Dec 15, 2017 If you want to run Windows-only applications on your Mac computer, this is the way. Unlimited access to Crossover for Mac FREE. You do not need to run. Aug 30, 2008 EXE's cannot be run naively on the Mac without 3rd party software. There are two options without buying windows to run EXE's. The first is called Wine. This is an open source project that emulates the system libraries and APIs of Windows, so that a computer can run Window's binary files on a Mac or Linux based computer.
So the game Rome total war apparently works with crossover games...
I have the game on a vista machine, I inserted a usb stick (8 gbs so it's enough space) and copied it from the windows c drive to the Applications folder in finder (Not the main applications folder of course) It looks like this:
'XXXXX'> Applications>Crossover Games>The Creative Assembly>Rome Total War
It copied with no problems, and I replaced RomeTW.exe with the no cd patch. When I start the game by clicking on the no cd, the 1st screen loads, then quits to the desktop. Is their a fix, or will I need to use the cds (If I can find them!)
Thanks.

Hi
Short answer: no.
You can install BootCamp or Parallells as a Windows environment (you will need to install a Windows Operating System thereafter – XP Pro etc) that will then allow you to run .exe files
I need to know know if it's possible to run a '.exe'
file on an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X.
Short answer: no.
There's a CD with an application I need to run. In the Finder
it has the icon of the black computer screen with
green letters and it's titled 'startCD.exe. It'll run
on Windows but due to circumstances I need to run it
on my computer. Any direction you can point me
in will be greatly appreciated.
